Course Objectives:
The AAOA Basic Course in Allergy & Immunology presents basic concepts and techniques applicable to the clinical care of allergic patients.

Upon successful completion of this course, diligent attendees should be able to take an appropriate allergy history, interpret physical findings, and assess the likelihood of allergy.

Attendees should understand —
  • basic pathophysiology of inhalant allergy;
  • diagnosis of allergy with various testing techniques;
  • avoidance and pharmacologic management of allergic symptoms;
  • how to initiate, escalate, and adjust allergy immunotherapy appropriate safety precautions and allergy emergency management
